Camp Half-Blood, Brooklyn Summer 2010

New sessions Aug 2nd through the 6th and Aug 9th through the 16th.

Per Week Fee: $375

(2011 registration materials are also available)

So, there’s this kid named Percy who’s been kicked out of every school he’s ever attended.  Diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia, he’s found himself on the margins of all things academic.  Strange things have always happened to him but a field trip to the Greek history museum goes absolutely nuts.  Percy is forced to take refuge at a place called Camp Half-Blood on Long Island, NY where (as the Gods would have it) it’s revealed that he’s a demigod: child of one of the major Greek Gods and a mortal woman. And, he’s not alone.  Turns out the Gods have been busy and their numerous demigod offspring are left to save themselves, the World and Olympus!

Structure:
Brooklyn is under attack and the borough's survival depends on you finding and resolving an ancient curse. Over the course of one week campers will be immersed in the world of Greek Mythology as they sharpen their defenses through archery training, chariot races, Capture the Flag, and sword fighting. Together they will quest and discover the truth/meaning behind the ancient Oracle’s prophecies and save Camp Half-Blood, Brooklyn from an ancient curse.

Camp Half-blood, Brooklyn will operate as a traveling camp based in Prospect Park.
