Music for Aardvarks

Mondays September 21st - December 10th,
9:30 / 10:30 / 11:30 am Classes
Brownstone Books, 409 Lewis Ave, Brooklyn, NY

Come join in the fun at Music for Aardvarks classes - a musical experience for families with children ages 3 months to 5 years. We will explore music through song & gesture, dance & movement, rhythm training, and instrument play; using original music that celebrates the lives of children growing up in an urban environment.

Written by David Weinstone, songs like Taxi, City Kid, and Subway provide children with a positive image of their world and help them relate to their surroundings.

 THE TEACHERS
Audra Tsanos is an actress and singer who has been working with families for the last 10 years. Audra teaches 20 classes a week in Brooklyn, where she encourages parents to be role models for their children through music. She provides an energetic, fun, playful environment that invites parents to relax and enjoy the music with their children. The popularity of her classes has made her a celebrated entertainer. Her hip style and rockin' vibe has mass appeal. Kids' music doesn't have to be boring and when she performs, it is anything but!

Musica Para Mi

Every Friday (Beginning September 25th - December, 18th) 10am
Brownstone Books, 409 Lewis Ave, Brooklyn, NY

The joy of music and Spanish in a total immersion fiesta! Babies and toddlers bring their adults to weekly 45 minute classes of singing, dancing, small hand percussion (because they have such small hands!) and more, all in Spanish. Musica Para Mi is the original program of its kind in New York City, now in its 11th year. It has been covered by NY1 news, Hoy, and El Diario/La Prensa, and director Graciela Carriqui was awarded the Community Excellence Award in 2007 by the International School of Brooklyn.
